As an expert for the metal logistics, we perform services all over Europe. In the direct door-to-door delivery service, we move 450,000 ts of long materials, coils, shavings and scraps; the transport handling without transhipment guarantees the observance of delivery dates and avoids damages. More than 55 employees and 140 trucks are in a dedicated use for Honold industry-specific solutions.

More than 180 swap bodies and over 30 own semi-trailers are tailored to these requirements; among others tarpaulins with sliding roof, reinforced platform gates for the bulk transport of shavings/scraps, coil troughs as well as special load securing systems.

In our customers' plants we are responsible for the scheduling of orders that are ready for shipment; we monitor the deadlines (production, quality). We separate road transportations from inter-factory transportations by carrying out unloading and loading tasks for our carrier partners in the plants with special-purpose vehicles, among others, fast transfer cars for swap bodies and semi-trailers. Thus, driving time is available for the production on the road. Idle times in the plants are reduced by the depot management system and software for collection service.

The route planning and the positioning of the packages (length up to 13.6 metres) requires software which is tailored to the requirements of the long materials logistics, among others visual representation of the single packages in the used load units considering the gross weight, axle loads, centres of gravity, fixing of auxiliary storage equipment.

The systems we are using for securing the load have been inspected and certified by Dekra (German Motor-Vehicle Supervisory Association). Tailored to our customers' requirements, we take on tasks in the loading area, we manage warehousing, buffer store, production supply, provision of personnel.

We give advice on the optimal creation of waste disposal structures for arising shavings/scraps per customer. In order to produce at optimal cost and to offer these cost advantages to our customers, we continuously optimize our handling processes (milk runs, encounter traffics). On a large scale we collaborate with Eastern-European carrier partners and have the necessary language skills among our employees.
