Honold unloads containers and palletizes the cartons according to packing plan. The pallets are stored randomly and controlled by an optimized SAP EWM RF solution. The connection to customer SAP LES and SAP ERP solutions is ensured by the Honold SAP EWM system. The specific requirements in the medical logistics arise from more complex hygiene regulations and the special awareness of the importance of the products for the people. Compared to industrial undertakings, the quality of the transported goods is of paramount importance because misdelivered goods or improper handling during transport might have fatal consequences for patients.

The supporting processes we are designing are both efficient and of high quality and contribute to the fulfilment of our promise made to the patients. Improving the economic efficiency and safeguarding a patient care of outstanding quality is the focus of our attention.

Effective supply chains are distinguished by moderate centralization of integrable service areas. This knowledge enables our customers to optimize the supply chains so that congestion and interruption during the material flow are avoided and transports can be synchronized or - under ideal conditions – combined. This requires a high degree of logistical skills. Honold has an extensive potential for optimization with 750,000 sqm - about 20,000 sqm of this area only for the medical logistics.
