Honold History
At World War 2, the Schützenstraße was completely destroyed. The rebuilding was carried out at Starkfeld 47in Neu-Ulm by Heinrich Honold and Dora Honold.
In the sixties, the road haulage company has been established. With the joining of Hans Heiner Honold, the cooperation activities in the forwarding business started.
At the beginning of 1990, a new building was put up in Neu-Ulm for the forwarding, parcel service and logistics areas.
In the mid-nineties, the DPD locations in the Czech Republic (Usti, Prague, Brno, Olmouc, Ostrava, Hradec) and in Switzerland (Bellinzona, Bad Ragaz, Schaffhausen, Zurich) were built up. In addition, new DPD depots in Germany (Cottbus and Dresden) were also set up.
In the nineties, the strategic cooperation of Night Star Express was founded.
In the late nineties, the foundation of the locations in Augsburg, Memmingen and Hanover took place.
In 2000, the System Alliance – currently the largest German general cargo cooperation – was established by Honold and other forwarding agencies. The Honold Logistik GmbH and the Honold eLogistik companies were extended.
From 2000 to 2005, new locations are opened in Straubing, Denmark, London, Moscow and Dubai. In 2004, the turnover was over 100 million € for the first time. Honold belongs to the fastest growing companies in South Germany.
The internal structures in the management and controlling area of the Honold Logistik Gruppe are adapted to the new size.
Together with the managing partners, Heiner Mathias Honold and Hans Heiner Honold, five managing directors in the logistics area, network travel bring the group forward.
In 2004, Honold Logistik Gruppe celebrated the 125th anniversary.
In 2005, an extension is started in Neu-Ulm.
